Personal Information
Geoffrey Knobl received his Bachelors degree from Virginia Tech in 1987. After graduation, he began working full-time in the Food Science & Technology Department at Virginia Tech as a computer programmer. Geoffrey's work includes: pioneering a program which provides Virginia seafood processors access to the budding world wide web; establishing a web sites for the CFAST program and the Food Science & Technology Department at Virginia Tech; developing databases to record food safety information, and programming an economic analysis spreadsheet for the seafood industry. Geoffrey also keeps the computers running smoothly in the Dept. of Food Science.

Besides computer work, Geoff is a road biking enthusiast and biking advocate and enjoys listening to and performing music. On May 20, 2000, he married Abbie Thye and on March 24, 2002 was overjoyed by the birth of his new son, Garrett Michael. He is now awaiting the birth of his second son, Kyle Brian in March of 2005.

Current Projects
Designing a hardware/software systems that records, calculates, displays, and prints temperature, f-values, pressure and other HACCP related data for seafood storage and processing operations.

Creating a web accessible MS Access seafood composition database and seafood article reference database.

Maintenence and improving this and other web sites.
