Recirc Culture Journal Grows
Five years after its inception, the International
Journal of Recirculating Aquaculture is on a very positive development
track. Papers from the journal are now listed with CAB Abstracts as well
as the National Agricultural Library’s AGRICOLA database, and the
National Sea Grant Library. The journal’s editorial board has grown,
as well as its subscriber base, and the number of manuscripts submitted
are increasing steadily.
Last fall, IJRA made a push to get universities and non-governmental
organizations with significant fisheries or aquaculture involvement to
shelve and catalog the
journal. We offered a free ongoing subscription to the journal, along with
a full set of back issues for those libraries. At this point we have
over 30 libraries
that returned their acceptance of this offer, but we are looking for more.
If
you know of a university or NGO that has significant fisheries or aquaculture
collections, and would like to have ongoing access to IJRA through that library,
let us know! If they agree to shelve and catalog the journal, we can send
them all the back issues, and keep sending new ones as they become available.
To
recommend a library, contact IJRA Managing Editor Angela Correa by e-mail
( ) or by phone (540) 231-2075. We will need the full name
and address of the library,
along with their web address if possible. Thank you!
